Preparation for Licensure

Preparation for Licensure

Overall, I think that the ATI Pharmacology Practice A online exam went really well for me. I think that having a pharmacology exam in Adult Health Four (gerontological nursing) last week helped me in this exam. I reviewed a lot of the past information I’ve learned such as the main concepts of pharmacology in nursing for that exam. For my own personal reflection, I feel that I have seen my critical thinking skills improve as I’ve gone though nursing school….

Post-Interview Reflection

Post-Interview Reflection

After the interview, I learned that strong nurses portray the characteristics of a leader through their own practice. In her position as a nurse in an assisted living facility, her role in leadership formal. She is a nurse supervisor. When asked about what resources are available to support her in her position, she stated that the nurse manager, the director of nurses, and human resources work wither her together as a team. Preparation for Licensure

Preparation for Licensure

After completing the maternal newborn adaptive ATI practice exam and remediation, I personally feel that I did alright but could have done better. I ended up finished this exam with 154 questions in total with an average answer time of 0:50 seconds. This is one of my fastest answer response times for these exams. After remediating and reflecting on my responses, it was clear to me that I should have taken more time. There were questions that I answered incorrectly…

Preparation for Licensure

Preparation for Licensure

Upon completion of the ATI Adult Medical-Surgical practice exam and remediation, I was able to identify areas of my nursing knowledge that I needed a refresher upon. Overall, the exam went well. Although it took me 237 questions to complete, it provided a lot of insight into what I need to study and restudy. I found that taking breaks helped me with maintaining my concentration and focus. As the questions continued past 150+, I became really nervous. This is where…

Preparation for Licensure

Preparation for Licensure

After completion of the ATI Pharmacology exam, I can look back and say that I feel that I did fairly okay. This exam showed me that there are still quite a bit of medications that I need to study before I take the NCLEX. Completion of the remediation worksheet however helped me understand these medications, where I went wrong, and what I could improve upon for future tests. I feel that I took sufficient time when answering the questions. Typically…

Pre-Interview Questions

Pre-Interview Questions

While I’ve met many different nurse leaders throughout my clinical experiences, there was one whom I’ve known for quite a while outside of clinical who I would like to learn more about their role as a nurse leader. The nurse I was able to get in contact with for this interview is a close relative of mine who has been a nurse for many years working in long term care. This individual has shown various examples of being a nurse…

The movie Nurses: If Florence Could See Us Now was truly inspiring. It was a privilege to hear their stories about the care and journeys that they have been on while being a nurse. One story that really impacted me was of the care and support that Laurie Mathers, an oncology nurse provided to one of her patients. Laurie was taking care of a gentlemen who was recently diagnoses with stage four testicular cancer who also tested HIV positive two years…

Prepare for Transition!

Graduation is just around the corner and while I am nervous, I am very much excited to get my licensure and become a registered nurse. I think what I am most excited for is to see where I end up. Before nursing school, I was unaware of how vast nursing is. There are SO many different fields of nursing that you can chose from I don’t even know where to start. I have found my own interest in cardiac and…

Dissemination Project Proposal PDF https://files.uneportfolio.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/891/2020/10/EBP-Proposal-1-1.pdf Reflection on the development, team work, and development of knowledge The development of this dissemination project ties back to a need that we saw on my clinical groups unit at MaineMed, and in nursing care in general. Pressure Ulcers have always been a longstanding issue in health care, and bundles have been created to mitigate the issue. However, we felt a need to update the bundle with the most recent evidence available and present it…
