Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

Preparation for Licensure and Transition to Professional Practice

This semester we took various ATI practice test modules and proctored exams in transitions to practice. These exams allowed us to one, determine content areas where we had deficits, and two, work on our own test taking skills and strategies. In my own personal reflection, I’ve noticed that I’ve really improved upon my own critical thinking and test taking abilities. I was able to see both improvements in my ATI practice and proctored exams along with exams in my other…

Preparation for Licensure

After completing the ATI comprehensive proctored exam, I finished with a 70% and with an 88% probability of passing the NCLEX examination. Overall, I am really happy with my results. I feel that I’ve met my own personal benchmarks after taking this exam. While I am happy with my results, I feel that I could have done better if I took more time. Before this exam, I had just finished taking an ATI proctored exam in my leadership course at…

Preparation for Licensure

After completing the ATI comprehensive practice B exam, I felt really well about my performance and results. While going through the exam, I felt that a lot of the information was review for me. Once I completed the first comprehensive practice exam and remediated on areas that I noticed that I was lacking in, I felt that it helped me with understanding what areas I needed to restudy. I feel that doing this along with restudying that information definitely helped…

After completing and remediating the ATI adaptive pediatrics practice exam, I was able to identify the areas that I need to improve upon. The pediatrics course that I am currently enrolled in at UNE has been going well so far and I feel that I have been learning so much. This practice exam has showed me areas that I have a content deficit in and need to relook over. For example, while remediating I noticed that I did not understand…

Adult Health IV Reflections on the Older Adult

Adult Health IV Reflections on the Older Adult

I’ve never really taken a deeper thought into aging, let alone my own aging before I took Adult Health Four at UNE. This course helped open up a lot of my own discussion into a personal reflection on aging, especially with the life-review photo book and narrative assignment. This project consisted on interviewing an individual over the age of 65 years old about their life and any major life events that they’ve experienced. My partner and I had a few…

Personally, I feel that I did really well on the ATI Pharmacology Proctored Exam in my transitions course. While I got a total score of 70.0%, I feel that compared to the program and national mean this is okay. The program mean was 66.9% and the national mean was 66.7% so my total score is just above these averages. During this test, I made use of the test taking skills that I’ve been working on this entire transitions course. I…

Preparation for Licensure

After completing the ATI RN Comprehensive Predictor Practice A exam, I finished with a total of 78% in about 2 hours and 44 minutes. Although this score isn’t the highest, I feel accomplished with my results. I was really nervous during this practice exam as it was comprehensive; similar to the NCLEX. When reviewing my individual performance, a majority of the incorrect content was information and procedures that I haven’t gone over in quite some time. For instance, tracheostomy care…

Preparation for Licensure

After completing the ATI Pharmacology Practice B exam, I was glad to see my own improvement from the first practice pharmacology exam. My overall score was higher than practice A, and I also only had one category of remediation to work on. I had initially set a goal to do better and have less categories of improvement for this exam, and I can happily say I met it. After the first exam, I looked over the content areas where I…

Attaining and Protecting My Professional Nursing License

Attaining and Protecting My Professional Nursing License

Upon graduating from nursing school at the University of New England, I plan on obtaining my licensure through examination in the State of Maine. After todays presentation with Dr. Kim Esquibel from the Maine State Board of Nursing, I learned that Maine is a Nurse Licensure Compact State. This means that upon completion of my NCLEX examination and obtaining certification, I can have one nursing license that will allow me to practice in multiple states. There are currently 34 states…
