Preparation for Licensure
After completion of the ATI Pharmacology exam, I can look back and say that I feel that I did fairly okay. This exam showed me that there are still quite a bit of medications that I need to study before I take the NCLEX. Completion of the remediation worksheet however helped me understand these medications, where I went wrong, and what I could improve upon for future tests. I feel that I took sufficient time when answering the questions. Typically during our class exams I usually finish close to last. I read questions slowly and highlight key points that the question is asking so I really understand. My average time answering each question was about the national average, and even a little longer. One thing that I think I could do to improve my score would be to take a break to recenter my thoughts. After sometime taking the exam, I found that my thoughts would race and I would get distracted by them. This is reflected in some of my questions that I got wrong. When remediating some of the questions I answered incorrectly, I noticed that I really understood why the correct answer was correct. This tells me that I probably had lost my concentration and couldn’t put the whole picture together. During the next ATI adaptive quiz, I am going to try these strategies I’ve identified to see if there is a difference in my performance.
